88 Bikes
Dan Austin, Co-founder and Executive Director of the 88bikes Foundation, discusses his travels endowing orphanages throughout the world with bikes for all the kids, from Cambodia, to Northern Uganda to the Peruvian highlands. This December and January, 88bikes is endowing orphanages and ashrams in Ghana, Nepal, India and Vietnam, sheltering children rescued from slavery. You can donate $88 towards a bike at the free event, or anytime at 88bikes.org.
Planet Earth: Ocean Deep
Join GAP Adventures for a screening of Planet Earth. Open ocean, a vast biotope covering two thirds of the planet, some shallow, some as deep as the mountain ranges are high. The ocean has an immense, precariously complex food chain, varying from microscopic animals, like krill, to enormous creatures, like whales. A $2 suggested donation for Planeterra will be collected at the door.
