Day 1 Arrive Beijing
Arrive in Beijing at any time.
Day 2 Beijing
Walk the legendary Tiananmen Square and explore the Forbidden City. Beijing is a city of incredible sights filled with shopping, food and entertainment sure to please all tastes.
Day 3-5 Lhasa
Dominated by the awe-inspiring Potala Palace; the colourful and holy city of Lhasa lies almost 3700 metres above sea level and is host to a fascinating blend of ancient and modern. It is a humbling sight to watch pilgrims circling the temples endlessly day and night on their knees.
Day 6-7 Samye Monastery
Located amid the willow trees on the sandy banks of the Yarlung Tsangpo (Brahmaputra River) Samye, Tibet's first monastery, is built to represent a three-dimensional mandala.
Day 8 Gyantse
Built at the centre of the trade routes from Nepal, Sikkim and Bhutan, Gyantse is overlooked by an impressive fort. The main monastery is the finest in all of central Tibet.
Day 9-10 Shigatse
Tibet’s second most important city, and the seat of the Panchen Lama, is one of the country's most richly spectacular and extensive monastic complexes. The Shigatse Bazaar buzzes with life and you will be enthralled as you wind through the stalls selling everything from slabs of yak butter and yak wool to prayer wheels and prayer beads.
Day 11 Beijing
Return to the buzz of Beijing for some last minute shopping and sightseeing.
