Day 2 Bonte Bok National Park/Swellendam (B)
Head to Bonte Bok National Park, home of the nearly extinct Bontebok antelope. En route, stop in the picturesque town of Hermanus, and admire the views of the dramatic South African coastline. Nestling at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains, Swellendam is a quaint provincial centre with unique history and much character.
Day 3-4 Plettenberg Bay (2B)
Before departing Swellendam, we'll visit the Diaz and Drosdy Museums, then go for some fine liqueur tasting before travelling on along the Garden Route to Plettenberg Bay. On day 4, explore Tsitsikamma National Park and it's dramatic coastiline, and take some time for other activities such as mountain biking or canoeing, or simply strolling the beaches or in and out of the numerous boutiques in Plettenberg Bay.
Day 5-6 Swartberg (2B,2D)
Take in the wonders of the South African landscape as we take a scenic drive to travel over the Outeniqua Mountains into the area known as Klein Karoo (“Little Karoo”) where stay in the village of Swartberg with the dramatic Swartberg Mountains as a backdrop. Here, we visit Cango Ostrich Farm where you can see these unique creatures up close, and the more adventurous can ride one of these huge birds.
Day 7 Stellenbosch (B)
Our journey takes us to the quaint and beautiful Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa. Amongst hundreds of square kilometers of manicured vineyards, you will embark on a wine tasting tour to explore the wine farms and to get a taste of the area, of course of its outstanding wines.
Day 8 Cape Town (B)
The cosmopolitan city of Cape Town offers many different activities – something for everyone. Visit Robben Island, view the city from the top of Table Mountain, explore Cape Point (Cape of Good Hope), visit the old French Hugonote town of Franschoek, and be sure not to miss the wonderful Cultural Historical Museum, Planetarium and numerous other small museums and theatres.
