Day 1 Casablanca
Arrive in Casablanca at any time.
Day 2 Rabat/Fez (B)
Depart Casablanca after breakfast and head for the capital, Rabat. Enjoy a guided tour of the city before hitting the road for Fez. Along the way we stop at Volubilis, the best preserved Roman ruin in this part of North Africa, and Meknès, a fascinating imperial city often overlooked by tourists.
Day 3 Fez B)
Join your local guide to discover the medina (old city), the leather tanneries, the Royal Palace and Medersa Bou Inania.
Day 4 Merzouga (B,D)
Journey through the Atlas mountains towards magnificent Merzouga on the edge of the Sahara Desert.
Day 5 Merzouga (B,D)
Today starts early with an invigorating sunrise excursion by camel into the desert. Spend the day discovering the desert landscape and the Saharan "ergs" (dunes). In the afternoon travel by 4x4 (approximately 40 mins) to our comfortable desert camp.
Day 6 Todra Gorge/Tineghir (B,D)
Return to Merzouga by camel and continue through stone desert to the superb Todra Gorge, a canyon 1000 ft high, cut into the pink and green walls of the High Atlas. Next we head to the remarkable palm groves of Tineghir, where we overnight.
Day 7 Ouarzazate (B,D)
Start the day with a short visit to the Dadès Gorge. Then journey along the “Route of a 1000 Kasbahs”. The day includes a visit to the well preserved Taourirt Kasbah.
Day 8 Taliouine (B,D)
Depart Ouarzazate for the small town of Taliouine, stopping at Aït Ben Haddou and its famous Kasbah on the way.
Day 9 Taroudant/Imouzzer (B,D)
Situated in the Sous Valley, the town of Taroudant is known also as “Little Marrakech”. With its ochre coloured city walls and charming souks, we stop here for a short visit. Then continue on to the village of Imouzzer.
Day 10 Essaouira (B)
Head for the Atlantic coast and the water-sports paradise of Essaouira.
Day 11 Marrakech (B)
Spend the morning at leisure at the beach, or explore the souks and medina of this charming city before heading to Marrakech.
Day 12 Marrakech (B,D)
A morning walking tour of Marrakech will end with a calèche (horse drawn carriage) to the Djemaa El Fna for leisure time. Rejoin the group in the evening for dinner in the open air food stalls on the Djemaa El Fna Square.
Day 13 Depart Marrakech (B)
