Day 2-4 Mercedes - Esteros del Iberá
Get a closer look at Buenos Aires with a half day city tour. Catch an evening bus to Esteros del Iberá, the largest fresh water reserve in Argentina. Spend the day wildlife spotting. If you're lucky, you'll see howler monkeys, capybara, otters and caymans.
Day 5-7 Foz do Iguaçu
Visit the fascinating Jesuit ruins near Posadas before leaving Argentina for Brazil and the magnificent Iguassu Falls. Sit back and soak in the stunning beauty and raw power of Iguassu, or opt for an exhilarating boat tour into the spray of the falls.
Day 8-10 Paraty
Travel by plane and bus to Paraty, a quaint coastal town reknowned for its colonial architecture.
Day 11-13 Ilha Grande
Take a well-deserved break from sight seeing and spend the next 2 days relaxing on Ilha Grande. Enjoy two days soaking up sun, snorkelling, hiking and cruising to various beaches, not to mention feasting on fresh seafood and sipping caipirinhas in the evenings.
Day 14 Rio de Janeiro
Heading north along the Atlantic coast, arrive at Brazil's ocean-side jewel, Rio de Janeiro. Few cities enjoy such a dramatic setting as Rio. Images of the Corcovado (Christ the Redeemer) and Pao de Açucar (Sugarloaf) are synonymous with Carnival and the 'joie de vivre' embodied by the Cariocas. Enjoy the famous beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana, capping your day off with a farewell caipirinha with your friends...
