We will also participate in a five-day community volunteer project which includes the assembly of wheelchairs for land mine victims in rural Cambodia. Day 1 Arrive Phnom Penh
Arrive in Phnom Penh at any time.
Day 2 Phnom Penh (B)
Learn about the tragic reign of the Khmer Rouge while exploring the Toul Sleng Museum and the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek. Ponder the past and relax on a sunset boat ride on the Mekong River.
Day 3 Siem Reap (B)
An early morning drive transports us to the legendary kingdom of Siam. Explore the spectacular temples of Angkor, Cambodia's spiritual and cultural centre. Don't forget your camera, you won't be disappointed.
Day 4-8 Community Volunteer Project (5B,5L,5D)
Spend five days volunteering on various projects in and around Siem Reap. Volunteers will assemble wheelchairs out of recycled materials for land mine victims and will present the finished product to recipients upon completion. No special skills are required. We will also participate in a variety of hands-on community development activities in a nearby village. During our free time, optional activities include exploring the town of Siem Reap, visiting with monks in a local monastery, travelling by boat to the floating village of Tonle Sap, taking a cooking lesson, and visiting a land mine museum.
Day 9 - 11 Sihanoukville
Let Cambodia's hefty history drift from your brain as you relax on white sandy beaches fringed with palm trees and tropical islands. Enjoy them while you can, these beaches won't be secret for long.
Day 12 Kampot
Spend time in this quaint little provincial town and visit Bokor Hill station, an abandoned French town built in 1922.
Day 13 Phnom Penh (B)
Explore this pleasant riverside city of cafes, shady streets and thriving markets full of vibrant textiles.
Day 14 Depart Phnom Penh
